Almost all people in the world have spiritual beliefs, relationships, and dependencies on the Creator: these include Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christendom, Confucianism, and others. All have a bond of faith with the Creator. This bond is usually expressed as a shape or a symbol. It can also be a direction, a building, or an object. The symbol is something one is convinced of, for example a sacred place or a sacred direction.
My work entitled “Vertical Knot” is an expression of my belief as a Muslim. The Ka’bah shows the direction of prayer. It is therefore an important in the Islamic religion. In other creeds, the religious symbol can come in form of a statue, a menhir or a symbol. All people have beliefs. I am convinced that there is no need to worry about differences in belief because they all have the same goal, which is to build a relationship with the Creator. As humans, we should respect the beliefs of others, in order to make living in this world peaceful and happy.
